DIY Decorated Coasters

My boss was kind enough to get my coworkers and myself each a coaster for our desks.
I don't really know what everyone else's coaster looked like (mostly because I didn't care or check), but below is a photo of what mine looked like.

I'm not a big fan of magnolias or flowers in general, so I didn't really like mine. I've been obsessed with a website called Pinterest and while browsing it, I've seen several tutorials of people decorating or making their own coasters. It was so easy, too!

What you need for this project:

Mod Podge
Paint brush
Coaster you don't like
Pretty piece of scrapbook paper

First, I cut out a piece of scrapbook paper to match the exact size of the top of the coaster.

Second, I painted a layer of Mod Podge on top of the coaster, then I placed the cut out square of scrapbook paper on top and smoothed out any bumps and let it dry.

After the Mod Podge & paper was dry, I added another three layers of Mod Podge on top of the scrapbook paper. Make sure to let each coat dry before putting on another.

Below is my end result. I love my beautiful new coaster. :)

Knitting!

I've just recently taught myself to knit by watching a few knitting tutorial videos on YouTube. I had to watch several videos to find the right ones for me because a lot were very confusing and some people would talk and knit so fast.

Below are the videos I've found to be very helpful.

How to make a slip knot by using this video by No Rules Knitting at the Teen Knit Cafe.

Use this video to learn the knit stitch and how to bind off when you're finished knitting.

This is the head band I completed.
